A surreal parody satirising a typical shampoo advert. This dreamlike world is an imagining of personified hair strands and hair products, where the physical flaws of hair in its natural state are exchanged for the emotional flaws of an ill-functioning family that are obsessed with perfection.
Rowan Wigley is an experimental filmmaker and video artist living and working in London. She graduated from Goldsmiths University in 2014 with a BA in Fine Art and History of Art. Her work predominantly focuses on transcending imagined and real perceptions of the global world that we live in. Rowan draws attention to certain ideas and controversies by applying philosophical or theoretical concepts to digestible metaphors, covering research topics such as product marketing, brands, human behaviour and mind control. The structural form of filmmaking has become a canvas upon which she can evoke a reaction within spectatorship, and create an ideological change in the relationship between what people see and do in response to a screen.
