A man drives his car slowly through a mechanical car wash and leaves an affectionate answer phone message for his young daughter. He recalls moments from the weekend, as well as some distant memories they shared together. As he's pulled deeper into the machine, we witness what she does not: her father's gradual breakdown. 

Dorothy Allen-Pickard is an award-winning filmmaker who lives and works in London. She is a member of Breach Theatre and is co-editor of Another Gaze Journal.

Her documentaries, fictional shorts and multimedia shows have won prizes including the Guardian Documentary Award and Total Theatre Award. They have been screened at BFI, The Ritzy, Hackney Picturehouse, PEER Gallery, Battersea Arts Centre and on the Guardian and Huck Magazine.
